Howdy all!

I have just joined the site, filled in my profile etc etc.. I am hoping to meet and chat with people who I can relate to and help to motivate me. I am scared about doing this alone.. I have been overweight for almost 3 years.. Yup.. 3 years without excersize.. Eek..

Food isn't my problem, I hardly eat much at all if I am honest (I know that also doesn't help but I just have a tiny appetite)

I am roughly 80lbs overweight at the moment.. My goal seems so far away. It's gonna be a long haul but I know I can do it. :tongue:
The main reason I joined this site/group/community is because I lack motivation BUT!! I just ordered the 30 day shred DVD.. I am very scared.. Lol. People say it's intense.. I am sure I will find out. Sounds as if the instructor on the DVD wants to kill you apparently (according to customer reviews)

    WELCOME! MFP is full of encouraging people!!!!

    I am on LEvel 3 of 30DS. Jillian is great! It is intense because it is only 20 minutes!!!! You need to push yourself to get the results. You can't wimp out and quit all the time. I suggest watching each level 1-2 times before you actually try it, just so you'll know what you need to do vs. trying to do it and learn it at the same time! I love it and have seen results on myself.
    If you set your mind to it, set mini goals, stay positive even when you mess up, and keep focused, you will do terrific!

    Hello and welcome. I am on a 60lb journey. I love food and wasnt crazy about the thought of exercising so I know where you are coming from. The first thing I did was cut out my BAC (Big "A" Coke) I got every morning and refilled in the afternoon. I cut out fast food (99.9%. Have had 2 breakfast bisquits in a month) and cut out every kind of potato chips (THAT one was the killer cause I love me some lays...lol). I increased my consumption of fruit, which I love and vegetable, which I love not so much. In the first 2 weeks I had modest loses but at the end of the month I had lost 26. Why? I started exercising. I had one of those lay down exercise bikes. Started trying to make 30 minutes total and had to take 3 or 4 breaks. By the end of 2 weeks I can now do a little more than an hour with only 1 one minute break. By the end of this week I expect to do an hour with no break. I also started slowly incorporating weights. And now have a routine for every other day. The weights have already improved certain areas of my body and I am wondering if that is why I have gone up 2 lbs since monday? I guess my point is, after all this rambling, that if that 30 day shred doesnt work, maybe start with what you can do and work towards it. I havent seen the tape so I am not trying to talk you out of it, just dont want you to feel beaten in the beginning. You can do it. If I can, anyone can...:) Wow, never wrote so much. Dont have time to QC so I hope I made sense...lol
