Hi, I am a LPN that works both days and nights at a hospital. I work on a matenity unit and are often busy at night with new babies being born.. my appetite is crazy on nightshift because of it. I am STARVING on nights. Is my calories for the day to be divided and used into the night? Am I soppose to starve for 12 hours?

I work nights in the ICU. I start my days over at midnight. In fact I eat a whole meal after midnight ( my actual dinner). I may or may not eat something small before bed, have a meal when I get up before work, and then a snack before midnight. Play with your times. Nothing says you can't eat after 8 or 9 pm.

I work 7p-7a. I usually pack my lunches and prerecord for the day. When I wake up the next afternoon, that's when I start the next day.

I also work nights in the ICU! But my hours are 6pm to 630am. What I've done was eat small things every 2-3 hours and drink lots of water. Helps keep me energized. I log everything in like I'd usually do during the day. Just make sure you get good sleep too :)
