I need some who can tell me how many calories I burn using my WII Zumba game? I also take Zumba for an hour every week. Someone told me to compare it to kickboxing, but I am starting to get scared that this is not right... I weight about 134 on a good day....If some one with a HRM or something can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.....

It would be a heck of a lot easier if MFP would just add it to the Database

I weigh a heck of a lot more than you, but I consistently burn between 475 and 600 (with really intense effort), according to my HRM.

Even if it's added to the database it could still be wrong, the database won't know how hard you are moving but give a general idea based on time.

Well, idk what else to say but look up dancing and see if you can find something that can relate to zumba...or maybe the intensity level...im not sure but maybe bellydancing or something like that can help. i dont remember the other dances they have on database but thats what i remember ... i hope it helps.

if your putting in a actual hard effort than just consider it to be like normal zuma or dance of some sort.

Zumba is low impact and kick boxing is not, so they can not be compared. Enter in mfp under cardiovascular type in aerobic dance and it should give u a round about #.
  • have a look at http://www.zumbacalories.com you can enter your weight, workout duration and intensity to get an estimate of calories burned
