Hi all
I have been a member of the site for a while but didn't even know there was a forum
Well I have 126lbs to lose but no doubt if I manage that, I will want to lose more. For the last week I have been following the Exante diet, it is a total meal replacement diet where you have 3 "packs" a day and it is supposed to break your obsession with food.
Well, I WI officially tomorrow but it looks like I lost 6lbs. I haven't eaten all week and all I lost was 6lbs. I have also felt awful, been arguing with hubby (he kept saying it wasn't healthy) the only good thing I have got out of it (apart from losing 6lbs) is that I have been so thirsty that I have been drinking about 4 litres of water a day and my skin has cleared right up.
Anyway, I am going back to good old calorie counting and see where that takes me. I have tried all the diet fads and none of them have worked, WW didn't work (3.5lbs lost in a month and I stuck to it 100%)
So hi everyone, I look forward to getting to know you all

Welcome! I think you'll like it here (and there are lots of UK peeps around!).
Glad to hear you're abandoning the extreme diet -- I've really come to understand that real food is the only way to lose real weight. You can do it and we'll all be here to cheer you on!0 -
Hello and welcome! The forums on this website are amazing0

Holy moly, you mean you haven't eaten at all?! :O :O
That is not good!!!!
Get eating and just try to eat clean and healthy, log your food and calories, do NOT stop eating, that has got to be so bad for you and your metabolism will just slow right down, not to mention your mood health implications for not getting any nutrients!!
Get lots of friends on here, read some articles and you will do this, but not by starving yourself!! x0 -
Welcome!! Just follow the MFP plan and you will lose weight in a healthy, safe, sustainable way. Measure, weigh, log, get exercise, eat most of the exericse calories, and make lots of friends...
Good luck!:flowerforyou:0 -
Welcome back. Calorie counting is the only way to go. I have been on this site for about a month and a half and I use the iPhone app. I try to go low-carb and count my calories. I limit it to around 50 to 100 carbs a day. To accomplish this I had to buy a good scale so I could weigh my food. My scale came with a book where I can look up the food and it tells me what to multiple the grams by to get the calories. After two weeks I just started shedding the pounds and after 5 weeks I have lost 20 pounds. Calorie counting works, so best of luck.

Thanks everyone
The Exante diet had all the nutirents etc... I needed, but it just wasn't for me. I am going to keep the shakes as they are only 200 calories, packed with protein and taste yummy. So thats some breakfasts sorted
Looking forward to getting to know everyone0 -
