Hi! I'm Jessica, and I am on my third day with MFP...so far I really like it! (It has definitely been holding me accountable with the food the past few days). Plus, I love all the success stories and motivational words! It really does inspire me to stick with this! I also love the before and after pictures! Can't wait to post some of me!!

My stats:

Age: 28
H: 5'4
CW: 173
GW: 125

Any tips, advice, motivation is greatly appreciated and very much welcomed!!! Note: I am a self-proclaimed food addict who doesn't struggle with going to the gym...but can eat pizza, mexican food and cookies everyday!!

best bet is to stick to the gym, maybe get a wii? xbox kinect? wii fit etc :)
im the same, i LOVE pizza but only now have like 1 every month or two as a treat, i cut back on all snacks, if im hungry i grab some snack-a-jacks or something. just something light, its working out really well so far!

best way is to just cut back on all junk foods, or maybe use quorn or like slimming world receipies etc. :D
i feel so much better because of it! x
  • Thanks guys!!! Appreciate the support! It is definitely hard! (Too bad losing weight isn't as easy as gaining it!)

Hi! Welcome to MFP! Well, best thing on this board for those who love food is the food tracker. Before you put anything in your mouth put it in the food tracker from the mayo to the tomato and see what the total calories are in it all BEFORE you eat it! I tell you that is a big big big deterent for me! Oftentimes just seeing how many calories are in something versus how many calories you should be taking in, in a day will K.O. you, and keep you on track. Second, allow yourself treats every now and then, it helps your body to not feel depraved, and also teaches you how to behave around food so that when the weight comes off you don't gain it back because you were "dieting" versus making a lifestyle change. Learn, for yourself, what to give yourself and when; how to purchase your treats in smaller amounts so that "temptation" isn't staring you in the face 24/7. Learn what works for one person may not work for you, but. there is always something to learn from someone else's journey. Just learn. Listen to your body. Figure out what it craves, when it craves, why it craves, and respond appropriately. More importantly, be patient with you, because if you can learn to understand, control, and adjust you, you can keep the weight off once you lose it.

For me, I just remember that this is a journey and that everything that I am doing now is truly setting the tone for the rest of my life b/c I don't want to just lose it, but I want to lose it and keep it off forever. There are many people on this board, many positive men and women who will encourage you to do you to do it, and do it right. Hook up with positive people that can give you encouragement as you start your journey. Know that sad days happen, but no matter what, remember that if you allow them to be a "lessoned learned", and adjust from your mistakes you can still call it a good thing. Congratulations on your journey, I am positive you can do this! :)
