Anyone up for an EXTREME 30DS Challenge?

I've never really posted on here - but thought that someone else might want to join me.

Here is the deal...

My second mini-goal is coming up in 135 days. (DH's bday) To reach my goal of dropping 25 pounds in that time, I need a plan. (Then, my next major goal is in June 2012.)

Here is my plan:

Day 1 - 30:
Do the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels on Level 1, daily.
Day 31 - 60:
Do the 30DS on Level 2, daily.
Day 61 - 90:
Do the 30DS on Level 3, daily.
Day 91 - 120:
Do the 30DS, Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 on a daily rotation. (For example: Day 91 - level 1, Day 92 - level 2, Day 93 - level 3)

Yesterday was day one for me - but I figured I might have more fun, if I can do this with someone else. It is a bit extreme - but I want to see results, and I am not going to get them sitting and waiting.

I also took my measurements and weight and wrote them down, to be tracked at each interval. (I did, waist, hips, thigh, calf, bicep)

So, what do you say? Want to join me?

I think your plan is great but (and I'm not an expert) I think doing the same exercise for 30 days will make it harder for you to lose the weight because your muscles are going to get used to the exercises after the first 2 weeks or so making the other 2 weeks or so not as beneficial.

That was my question too. I don't know if I can listen to the same Jillian for 30 days straight. Love her, but by day 10 I want to put my foot through a TV...

Well, I do have a few days in July 20-24 that I have deemed 'rest days' - since I will be traveling for work away from a dvd player.

But - I was thinking that I would allow myself to have rest days (maybe 3-4 per month - basically one per week) if I felt I needed it. Anyone can join me, and modify the challenge to be the best for them.

I was wondering about that - but am thinking that by changing up the levels, it will keep my muscles guessing, especially at the end.

Haha. I hate listening to her - I put on music, and turn the TV down! :)

I just restarted the program yesterday as well, so would love to join in on your challenge with you to keep motivated!
  • Ha Ha - I did the same thing.
My day one was on Tuesday - Had to skip yesterday as I was in so much pain... Going to do Day 2 this afternoon
  • I think it's a good plan, but you might want to use some of Jillian's other DVD's or something as well. The Thirty Day Shred is set up so you can do all three levels in thirty days, & if you keep doing the same routine for such a long amount of time, you will develop muscle memory & it will become less work. This means you won't he getting the results you want in the amount of time you want them. I am not trying to discourage you, just want to help. :) That DVD works really well on it's own with a good diet plan, but I highly recommend her others like Six Week Six Pack (my favorite) & Burn Fat & Boost Metabolism, or whatever it's called. :p Best of luck to you! :)

My son just turned 1 and I'm ready to lose this baby weight. I need this type of challenge. I will get the 30 day challenge tonight and start tomorrow. I might switch it up a tiny bit--I have Jillian's "Yoga Meltdown" with 2 levels and have tried it a few times--it is very difficult.

Awesome! Here's to a great day 2! (and I have found if I stretch for some extra time (and drink a ton of water) the soreness isn't as bad)

Ew I just finished the 30 day Shred and to do 1 workout for 30 in a row is boring and i would give up. If you want to make it interesting do level 1 for 5 days then level 2 for 5 days and so on. That would be extreme.

It sounds good but I don't know if I can keep up with you on that schedule. I will try though. How about that? I agree with many other people on listening to Jillian daily! LOL But I think I have a solution for that, mute the TV and plug in my Ipod! So here's to kicking it up a notch! I will start tomorrow. :) Good Luck!

My massage therapist told me to ease the soreness take a hot bath with a cup of Apple Cider Vinegar. It smells but it does ease the soreness if not eliminate it.

I would love to join this challenge! I started my second round of the 30 DS a week ago, but everyone that I was in the challenge with seems to have disappeared. I love challenges just to keep me motivated and accountable. Feel free to add me as a friend!

    How's everyone doing?

I am starting to see a noticeable difference in my endurance - and I have dropped a few more pounds reaching my mini-goal (just a little more than a week late - but I still made it!).

Just a little bit longer before kicking it up to Level 2 for Month #2 of the Extreme 30DS Challenge!
