Is it more beneficial to work out in the morning before you start your day or at night before you go to bed.... does it even make a difference?!

I think it's a personal preference, I like to work out in the mornings, it gives me energy and I know how many calories I need to eat throughout the day. But sometimes I can't get up to go to the gym in the morning before work, so I just go in the afternoons

It is said it is better to workout in the morning before you eat so your body has to burn the fat calories and not the insulin you have just digested.

For me it is better if I workout right when I get up. It gets me completely motivated for the day and I feel a lot better and energized! And sometimes I'll still add in an evening run or something if it works!. Plus, I like getting it over and done with. I know myself and I'll come up with other things to do instead of working out if I wait. :) But everyone is different!

Personally I don't think it matters WHEN you exercise but it does matter if you DO or DO NOT exercise. As long as you exercise it can't be bad! I have always been a night time exerciser. I'm not a morning person, though I ahve been getting up early a couple times a week to get some exercise in. For me though, once I exercise, in about 2 hours I am ready for bed, so a.m. exercise can make for a long day for me, but again, that is just me! Whatever works best for you is awesome!!!!

Working out in the morning kick starts your metabolism and makes it easier to keep it running all day.

I think mornings are better because you know how many calories you have left throughout your day, instead of being left with 300 calories to eat right before bed. Also, it's easier to get it over with. The longer I wait, the less I feel like working out. lol

I work out in the mornings now, but I prefer later in the afternoon because it just takes so much out of me. I'm doing fairly well today, but tuesday I just wanted to take a nap while I was at work.

My morning workouts are always, always better than the evening. But my schedule would have me getting up at 4:30 to workout and I like to sleep. So, I workout out in the AM on days I don't have to work. Work days are in the evening and at least I'm getting the exercise in :o)

I'd say it's a personal preference. I used to train at 5:30pm but after an hour commute I was dragging. Then I'd lift and be all hyper just in time for bed. Now I train at 4am, fasted, and I love it. Workout's done for the day and the body is in fat burning mode.

I practice Tai Chi in the morning, before my co-workers come in.
After work, I go to the gym for weight training, elliptical and treadmill.
My husband and I are trying to get into the habit of doing some stretches while watching TV in the evening, (because he has been having leg cramps in his sleep).

I'd prefer morning if my schedule allowed it (I need my beauty sleep!). So on the weekdays, I run in the evenings (yay for Hot Atlanta....ugh). On the weekends, I run in the morning.
