Any pre-diabetics out there please help!!!! I have lost my information from my nutritionist!!! I cannot remember what percentage of fat, carbs and protien I need. Right now I have my goals as 30% fat, 45%carbs and 25% protien. I have my fiber intake at 25%. I also take 500mg of metformin daily. Any suggestions? Would appreciate any advice. Thanks sherrik10

I am type 2 diabetic. I eat a 40% protein, 30% carbs, 30%fat diet. I've been doing that for over six months. Doing that time I have lost a significant amount of weight, been able to stop taking all my prescription drugs including metformn, and regulated my blood sugar. I haven't had a blood sugar reading over 105 since early March.
I stick to lean protein, lots of green veggies, drink at least 3 liters of water each day, and do cardio and resistance training 4 days a week.
Now I will say that I am extremely strict with my diet. I count everything. I've had a total lifestyle change since diagnosed and will never go back to my old ways. I believe fully that you can't be passive in your diabetes management but have to attack it proactively and fight it tooth and nail.0 -
I to was told I was pre-diabetic about 3 weeks ago. My A1c was 5.9% She wanted me to adjust my diet, get some exercise in, told me several things to stay away from and then come back in 6 weeks to see my progress. My mother is on insilin 4 times a day. I DON'T want to head in that direction!0

June the 9th I found out I was pre-diabetic also..My A1C was 5.4. They told me at 5.9 was when I would have to start taking medications. I was told to change my diet start exercising and to lose weight. I was given three months to make a drastic change. Here we are a month later, ive lost 15 lbs and blood sugar has been running great numbers. Three weeks ago I joined a gym and the only days I have missed were weekends because I live in a different town than the gym but I work in that town so I can just go after work 5 days a week. But struggling with finding things to eat. Getting tired of the same old stuff. I have three kids so its hard to make them food and make me something seperate. HELP lol any suggestions are welcomed!0
