    Hi Amanda!

My name is Kasie, I do not have children, but I have been struggling with losing weight and remaining motivated to continue an effort. First off, I must say kuddos for bringing 5 humans to this world, it is truly the one thing I most admire and fear about being human.

I am a vegetarian as of the beginning of 2016 and have really added a lot more cheese to my diet than desired. Ultimately, I would love to become a vegan. BUT, first thing first - I need to focus on being stronger and healthier!

I'll send an add request - would love to be a support buddy!

Have you gone through the initial steps of computing your recommended daily kcal intake, ...? Critical
If you want to ease into it maybe start by planning your daily menus and inputting to match your maintenance weight. Just a thought til you get into the habit. I had to jump in when losing and am now getting back into it again after summer gain and down time. So that's what I'm doing.
For me it's important that I keep the app pulled up on my phone and/or link on my pc so I can add immediately after (or even better - before) I eat something. Waiting til the end of the day doesn't work (for me).
Had to get rid of all my favorite sweets (ice cream, almond kisses, even gummy bears!) but that may be harder for you with children in the house. Of course, even the children might benefit from pre-portioned desserts. They and you would internalize what a normal serving should be instead of the supersizes that we've gotten accustomed to. Example: Breyers Snack Ice Cream Cups are 100 calories - much more controlled for you AND them than scooping from a big tub and you can build the calories into your daily plan.
