hi I weigh 200 pounds and have a bmi of 29 somewhere ish, I've been running and I've noticed that my clothes fit me a lot looser and my face and jaw looks more chiseled, I run everyday 500 calories and eat 2-3 times a day, small meals. however, my calorie goal is 2500 but I only eat 1700, is this bad?

Depends on your age, general health level, height, and duration of your "diet."

So.... You eat 1700 but burn around 500 a day... Are you hungry? Do you feel tired or lack energy? Are you drinking lots of water?
Is the 1200 calories you retain after exercise nutritious? I.e full of fruit and vegetable, protein etc? If it is then I say you'd be ok... But if that 1200 is made up of processed foods full of sugar and salt then I'd say no.

I ate fruits, meats, not anything that's junk food. no burgers, tacos, chips, candy, sodas nothing. I feel good to be honest, I feel like more active, however I just would see what you guys would think is better @Neanbean13

If you can breathe deeply and you're more active and you're not tired/achey/sick-feeling, I think that sounds pretty good!

I wouldn't go below 1800 cal/day, but recommend that you try and hit at least 2000 cal/day. The problem with eating at the bottom of the calorie range, you have no room for adjustments if you get in a plateau.

In general, you should eat as much as you can while making progress towards your goal. If you can lose body fat at 2200-2500 cal/day, then you should do that. It'll set you up for better long-term progress

I don't feel tired or sick, just my legs from running, no matter what I will still keep on giving it my all, my mind is set to achieve this goal, and I know I can do it!
