Beginner to exercise

Hey, I have dropped 12 pounds by just dieting but it is going to slowly. My main aim is to fit into smaller clothes and have read that the best way to do that is to do resistance training. As a newbie to exercise could anyone suggest what I should be doing daily. I don't have the cash for the gym so anything at home please. Much appreciative of any advice.

You could try, stretching before any exercise. After that go old school, try with feet shoulder width apart and arms fully extended the ole bend at waist and touch left hand to right toe, then opposite hand to other toe. Then, because you are already in position, try the old torso twist but don't over twist. Then it's plank time, try to sets, and count how long you can hold that position for each set (increase length of time eventually), use good form. Then, if you have stairs in your house(?) climb the stairs repeatedly. Then there is walking. Not just strolling but exer-walk. For example, go for a walk on boardwalk at a beach but make it a brisk walk and enjoy the scenery( you become fit add more miles) or go to a multi-use path and walk. Hike? hiking but not on a smooth path. Go for swim at a beach?
