Hi from Oklahoma

Hi, I'm Patty, born/raised in southern California, been here in central Oklahoma for ten years now. I've also been trying to lose weight about that long. But this is my year.
Married almost 30 years, three grown kids. I'm an author, and as such I spend a great deal of time sitting in a chair. My main exercise is when I do live events, then I'm going non-stop for eight to ten hours a day.
I used to work out a lot when I was in my early 20's but now I'm in my 50's and so even if I did have the time, to spend that time in a gym doesn't appeal much to me. I've been back and forth on paleo and low-carb diets (and I have a wheat intolerance, so gluten-free) over the years. I just joined up here after deciding to get serious with a low-carb diet and track it as suggested by Lynn Terry's website. So far I like this site pretty well!
Anyway, I'm fairly reclusive so I may or may not be around here much, but I want to get into the good habit of tracking what I eat and what I do, do the low-carb thing consistently, and see where it takes me. I have forty pounds to lose this year and I plan on doing it.

You got this! Feel free to send me a friend request. I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Weight Loss specialist. I started tracking again to really lock things in so feel free to take a look at my food diary. The important thing is figuring out the proper caloric deficit for you to lose weight without destroying your metabolism. Always happy to help and good luck!

Hi, thanks for the warm welcome! For some reason I'm not getting notified ... have to figure this out. Anyway, it's going pretty well with the diet, although I have had to study to see what I could eat. It's nice to see so many people are on this from nearby.0
