Anyone deal with sciatica pain? I been seeing a chiropractor for almost a month. I had nerves pinched, out of line, hip rotated, one leg shorter then the other. Well im back in line and everything is good except the pain is still there. I have tried stretches, motirn, alieve. Nothing seems to have helped. I read tumeric can help so i figured why not so i tried it today. Any help be appreciated. So tired of hurting. I wanna get back to enjoying life and back to my daily routines

I feel for you. I don't have sciatica, but I do have lower back pain, arthritic knees, Achilles tendonitis...and the list goes on. With all of this, it is virtually impossible for me to "exercise"/work out. My suggestion for you, if everything you have tried doesn't work, is to see a pain specialist doctor. They are usually located in neurologists offices. Good luck to you!

I've had it since my 20's (used to break dance). It's never gone away, but it increases when I DON'T exercise for a given period of time.

If it continues you can talk to your doctor about epidural steroid injections. It's a series of 3 injections that blocks the pain, the relief usually lasts about 9-12 months. I've had 2 series done over the past few years but won't be doing again - for me they never last more than 2-3 months. If you look on YouTube for piriformis stretch in particular, they may help you. good luck!1

if you go on youtube there are many videos on how to help ease sciatica pain. usually yoga related.

I see a chiropractor as well. He has a massage therapist in his office and those together have worked wonders. It works, give it time. I used to be every week for quite a while and I am down to 1 "maintenance" visit a month. Strengthen your core. Learn the Pallof Press, exercises from Stuart McGill and anti-rotation exercises to build your core. I take turmeric too and I think it works, but it could be the placebo affect.1

Try that and a few other videos. Good luck.2 -
I have a bulging L4/L5 disk which presses on the nerve root, so there were days - and there used to be a lot of them - where the pain would shoot down my hip and into my knee.
Lost 25 pounds. Worked very, very hard on developing core strength. (Not just abs, the whole core)
Can't remember the last time I had any pain from it.0 -
I found that my sciatica pain was related to tight hamstrings. Unfortunately, we are all so, so different and there are any number of ways to irritate the nerve. Triangle pose was one of the first ways I found relief, among a few other poses designed to stretch the hammies. Since then, whenever I work them, I stretch them really well. No problems since I figured that out. Good luck and I hope you find an answer somewhere!2

Similar situation for me (L5/S1). I went to physical therapy for three months, twice a week before seeing any improvement. Now I am mostly pain free with regular exercise and stretching. First day they pointed out an anterior pelvic tilt and we worked on correcting that with stretching and core work. I have no experience with chiropractors or what they do, but one evaluation session with a physical therapist was an enlightening experience about how my body moves vs how it is supposed to move.0 -
Bigjeem25, Get a bath towel, and wet it and fold it enough to fit you back. Put it in the freezer overnight. Next day put it under your back and lie on it for 20 minutes every day for a week or two. You can alternate it with heat every other day. You see what causes the pain is the swelling. The cold compress will help with the swelling. I know this method work for me when I was bend over and could hardly walk and everything I tried did not work until I tried the cold compress under my lower back. Good luck, hope this help.

Have you looked into seeing a podiatrist? Low arches can aggravate your lower back. Orthotics won't be a cure all but they can definitely help.1
