Question About "Calorie Counter" App from MyFitnessPal.

Does anyone use the "Calorie Counter" app from MyfitnessPal? If so, How is it? Is it any good? Does the app sync with your food log on MyFitnessPal and your profile? I've noticed that the app has a "Offers in-app purchase" and "In-app Products", what does that mean? Do I have to buy something in the "Calorie Counter" app to use it, but in Google Play, it says that the app is "Free"? Is there anything else I need to know about the MyFitnessPal "Calorie Counter" app?

Thank you in advance.

You can pay for mfp premium, but the basic calorie counting and exercise tracker are free

The App is just another way to log -- if you enter something in the App, you will see it on your Food Log when you get back on the website (and vice versa). It's just another way to access the website. You don't have to purchase anything, but if you choose to purchase Premium membership, you can do it via the app (which is why you see the notification about in-app purchases).

TavistockToad: What is "mfp premium"?, but I just want to use it for calorie counting when I'm away from my computer. Otherwise the app is free to use to log in calories and maybe use my profile on the app?

The mobile app is free, regardless. You can do pretty much the same things on both the mobile and web apps, although the mobile app has some interesting features the web app doesn't like showing your step count from a synced activity tracker and the ability to add foods by scanning the bar code on the packaging.

The premium membership unlocks some extra functionality on both the web and mobile versions.

It's just the app version of the website. It pretty much works exactly like the website, just optimized for mobile use.

I love the iOS app, use it on both iPhone & iPad, seldom use the website. Works great.
