Aggressively demand it from your server.

Here's an example that I found googling "Boston Pizza Nutrition".

    https://bostonpizza.com/en/nutrition/information/#

It pays to look up before you go.

One of the reasons I avoid Red Robin restaurants is that they do not publish any nutritional information, but they do allow you to find menu items that are free from a specific allergen you want to avoid.

Does this not work for you?

If not, I wonder if it's a regional thing that they only make available in certain areas.

Any US restaurant chain that has 20 or more locations is required by the FDA to publish nutritional information.

@amyrebeccah it must be a regional thing. There is no such list for Canada and the site notes that each menu is regionally based.

Extreme Pita on the other hand posts its nutritional information on a big board near where you order. Very handy.

I think it depends where you go. If you're looking for something at a locally owned place, you're mostly going to be out of luck.
Chain restaurants are easier. They usually provide their nutrition info on their website...just do a search on Google for the restaurant name and 'nutrition facts' or something. Some restaurants I've noticed around here even post the calorie information right on their menus in the restaurant.
It's so nice of them to do that...

Most restaurants in my part of the world don't provide this kind of info (only fast food places, almost no actual restaurants), so I take an educated guess based on existing entries in the database.

Learning to make a reasonable estimate of a meal that you didn't prepare is a useful skill to develop as there will always be occasions where you need to do this - including eating at other people's houses, work events etc.

It's also important to note that even if a restaurant does provide this info, it's still an estimate, it's very likely that there will be some variation on the day.
