Do you own one? I've been looking at this one at Walmart but it has mixed reviews.0 -
I couldn't tell you the best there are a lot of opinions out there.
Things to look for:
Continuos Duty Motor, quite a few of the less expensive units don't have this and the better units either have a five or ten year warranty on the motor
Thickness of the platform that you run on, the thicker the better, also the heavier the machine. Width and length of the platform, wider and longer is better.
Electronics package, higher level units are available with different electronic packages resulting in a range of prices for the same unit.
Be very careful when you purchase, many units available won't support over 250 pounds and are poorly constructed with minimum components. Quite a few of the under $1000 units are made by a company named Icon Fitness and private labeled for others like Reebok, Golds, etc. I would recommend at least making a trip to a specialty fitness retailer and seeing and getting to know the higher quality units available. If you decide to purchase a higher quality unit ,used, you can usually find some lightly used ones on Craigslist but be sure that you thoroughly test the unit before the money changes hands. There was a Percor fold up unit lightly used on the Houston craigslist for $1000 yesterday, about a $2500 unit when new.0 -
Hi, I'm back! I LOVE my nordictrack A2350! It is a very high quality treadmill. It has the longer deck for tall folks(like my hubby) and is sturdy enough for heavy folks! I bought mine used and it is still amazing! It is very sturdy and doesn't move at all while I run! I have tried quite a few treadmills and they all seemed creaky! (Is that a word??) Anyway, it is a 1200 dollar machine, but it is on sale for $799 at sears.com. Take a look, you won't be disappointed!0

Wow. I got my treadmill at sears. The salesman that helped me is very informative. Just go and talk to them. It is a proform xp 620. It is great. They now have the ones with I-fit. I wish I would have waited. But mine is great. Very sturdy. But they have many good ones. My next purchase is going to be an elliptical. Good luck shopping.0
