Eat, or save them for tomorrow

How is that even possible? Ice cream with peanut butter and beer to finish.

It's after 9pm here too and I still have 1300 calories left, so it's possible. Though I tend to eat dinner late.

    It was rhetorical, dude :)

I had a feeling, but you can't be too sure these days :)

Anyways, like she said, just have a high-calorie snack to finish the calories off, as long as it fits your macros. That or, if it's not too below your daily caloric needs, you can just skip it altogether.

Extra weekend calories! I would treat myself to a nice meal out with a drink or two the following day

I'd probably eat a snack if I was hungry and bump a chunk of them into the next day

....to be clear you cannot "save calories" for the next day ... it doesn't work that way.

It boggles my mind how I could skip so many calories... I ate today about the same amount I usually eat. I'm not even that hungry, strange.

but on the contrary. I do this all week long so I can eat out at fun places on the weekend. It is called banking calories.

Thanks everyone I think I'll have a higher calorie snack and start the day off with a bigger breakfast.

Trail mix. Also, you can save it for tomorrow. I do that all the time.

Sure you can. If you are losing 1 lb a week and your deficit is 3500 calories a week, as long as you get that deficit in, you can divide it up however you wish throughout the week, within reason. Some people choose to do 500 a day deficit, others do plans like 5:2 fasting, etc...

So do I sometimes, and it hasn't stopped my weight loss yet. It's a good workaround if you know you'll have a heavier calorie weekend.

Basically what you do is, if you know you're going to eat over one day, you can eat a slightly larger deficit the other days. For example, if you normally eat 1400 calories, you could drop your intake to 1300 calories Sun-Fri, giving yourself 600 extra calories to eat for Saturday. Does that make sense?

I look at my allotted calories per week not per day. I maintain on approximately 1800 per day for 7 days = 12,600(i'm still tweaking this amount) and i eat 1500 per day for 5 days which is 7,500. This gives me 2100 extra calories per week. I spread them out as needed. 2100 divided by 2 = 1050 and divided again by 2 gives me additional 500 calories per day. So 1800 + 500 = 2300 on Saturday and on Sunday. I am 56 and 5'4" and 118. YMMV
