Cardio or Strength training?

I've been tracking my calories and doing cardio & strength training (alternating days) and lost 25 pounds. Now all thats left is my mommy pouch. How do i lose that? Do I need to do more cardio? Or drop the cardio and do more strength training?

In order to lose the mommy pouch, you have to lose more bodyfat. You can eat at a deficit and strength train to retain muscle mass.1

You don't need to drop either. What sort of deficit are you running, as you will need to be at a slight deficit? Also, what sort of weight program are you doing?0

Do both. Both have their benefits.2

Do both. Your physique will benefit the most from strength training but cardio is great for health.3

the problem with losing more body fat is that i lose everywhere except my stomach. you can see my bones but still my stomach wont budge.0 -
I agree with others that say keep up with the both cardio and strength training. Have you tried HIIT workouts, Crossfit, or even Yoga/Pilates? HIIT and Crossfit from what I've seen and heard from others will get you into some of the best shape of your life. I do yoga and Pilates (great for building core strength) and although my abs are getting stronger they certainly aren't my pre-pregnancy abs either. Don't get too down on yourself. Your body stretched itself to its limits and then some during pregnancy. Continue working hard and you will get to where you want to be. It may not happen as quickly as you'd like, but it'll happen.3

You're just on the underweight side, so what you need is a good lifting program (Stronglifts 5x5 or New Rule of Lifting for Women) and to eat at or just above maintenance.1 -

Do not drop your cardio, do both. You can alternate days and still have a rest day.0

I do jump training...or as they now say: "Plyometrics". That sounds so much more scientific...
I integrate that with other items to get results. My program is easily duplicated and simple:
Sound Nutrition
Intermittent Fasting
Calorie Cycling
HIIT Training
Plyometric Strength Training
Compound Resistance Training
I get results but very slowly. It's no magic bullet. If I sound like a guy selling something, sorry…lol
It’s just that as we try different routines, so we learn, and plyometric type exercise worked for me.

Yeah...you can't lose anymore weight. I'm 5'4" as well...I weigh a lot more than you but I have luck trimming fat with heavy strength training and moderate deficit. No cardio for me but if you like it it's great.0 -
