Yes, it's possible to gain fat from overeating. That's how extra calories are stored - in fat, not in water. You may also have water weight from eating a lot of salt.

Yes. I suspect you will gain fat. Dont let it set you back though.

I look at weekly total. When you add up weekly calories, did you exceed your maintenance calories by 3500? If not you will have some fat gain but it's probably less than a pound. I also look at my 30 day calories and even if I exceed enough to gain a little over a couple of weeks? I notice if I stay in maintenance calorie range over a 30 day period. I still even out weight wise. So it's not just daily or weekly, you can look at your calories monthly. I thought that was pretty cool when I discovered that.

Instead of binging, why not incorporate some of your favorite foods into your daily calorie goals. When people try to cut out certain food groups, it only leads to binging later on. Moderation is key. I still enjoy pizza, chocolate and ice cream but I eat it in moderation and I make sure it fits into my calories.

What's going on in your situation that you fell into binge behavior for 3 days?

I'd agree that you're gaining fat for sure. But I'd leave the doubt of it being just fat. If you ate more carbs than usual, the extra carb intake will cause you to need more water (carbohydrates are processed in cells with the use of water). So, although you are probably gaining fat, you're also probably gaining a good amount of water. 1lb. of just water? Not likely

If you ate 3500 calories over your maintenance calories and you did this for X days, and you will gain fat. So take the calories you actually ate and deduct your your approx maintenance calories, you can do some math.

edited to add: the scale is gonna show water weight gain for sure, no doubt.
