Does water really help with weight loss?

Someone in a group on fbook sheared a video of a 10 day water challenge an am thinking its sounds OK but does drinking water really help with weight loss??

    No it doesn't. Only a calorie deficit does. I make sure I'm hydrated but rarely drink water.

    Oh bang goes that idea then I got told drinking water before a meal makes you fuller or something like that is that rubbish as well ??

    Some people can feel fuller temporarily. But it is the fact your eating less calories that makes you lose weight. Just weigh out a serving that fits your calories in the first place then you will want to eat it all.

    Depends. When I do that it just makes me feel sloshy and even more hungry.

    Water helps in different ways. The most important thing about water is that is needed to absorb nutrients (think of water soluble vitamins like vitamin B complex and vitamin C). Except for that, many times when we are really thirsty our body may give us a signal to eat (since food also contains water). Drinking adequate amount of water can moderate hunger that actually comes from thirst.

    That being said, what really makes you loose weight is a calorie deficit. All other things are tools to help you along the way.
