    Desi (pronounced they-see) is the term south Asians use to refer to themselves and differentiates between the Asians from SE Asia (Japan/China/Thailand etc) and south Asia (Pakistan/India/Bangladesh etc) - @zahra 813, correct me if I'm wrong, please!
