Coffee and weight loss

Did anyone lost a decent amount of weight while still consuming coffee? My biggest vice right now is 1 medium coffee with cream or milk no sugar - it logs in at 90 calories but I was told it slows down weight loss, any experience with it? Thank you

I'm 44 and recently started to drink coffee for the first time. I have one or two cups when i get the afternoon munchies. I also drink tea throughout the day and have milk in every cup, i go through at least 550ml everyday which i log. As long as you're logging that 90 calories, you'll be fine.
Drinking coffee will not slow down weight loss, some people even say it helps as in gives you a kick of energy, boosts your metabolism slightly and suppresses appetite..7 -
If it fits into your calories and you enjoy it, keep drinking it. I know many people who've lost weight while drinking coffee (I hate the taste, so I don't). Just make sure you're measuring the cream/milk accurately so you know it's only 90 calories worth.1

I drink approx. 6 or 7 a day with milk and sugar. I've lost 43lbs since January. It only slows things down if you don't account for it in your daily calories. I'm not giving up my coffee for anything, so I make it fit7

I have lost 40 lbs and I drink coffee, a ton of coffee!6

(Potentially) increasing your energy and activity level or improving your workouts will slow your weight loss?
90 calories... is 90 calories. Only you can decide if this is a worthwhile use of calories for you, or not. One of the reasons we count and log is so that we can decide which trade offs are worth it for us as individuals.
Each coffee I drink has 1 to 1.5 oz of 2% milk. This means, on average under 35 Cal per coffee cup. I get three coffees to your one7 -
Caffeine is typically an appetite supressant. As long as you are logging the calories in the drink (and yours are pretty low compared to how some take their coffee) it will not stop you from losing weight.5

Um no. If anything coffee with a little fat in it has been beneficial to me for weight loss because it suppresses my appetite and helps meet my fat macro. 90 calories worth of cream though..If it's worth it to you.3
-
Nope! I drink black coffee and it (usually) keeps me out of the snacks. If 90 calories keeps you from having 300 calories of something that you didn't need, then it's helping, not hurting.4

If I thought coffee was a problem Id have to give up something else. But. Ive never heard that coffee is a culprit in the prevention weight loss. Unless its mixed with more cream, sugar, marshmallows etc. than actual coffee. At which point its a cake. Some people i know used to do this. Im not sayin names.4

I drink 2 cups of coffee every day. I put 2 tsp sugar and 2 tbsp half and half in each one. So each cup has 70 calories and I always have 2 so 140 calories per day. I lost 60 pounds and am now in maintenance. If you want your coffee just fit it into your calorie goal.5

I faithfully abide in my cardiologists orders to drink coffee every day. I drink it black so it has been no hindrance to my weight loss journey.5

I drink a coffee with cream every morning. It's all I have until my lunch at 2pm. I look forward to it every day3

Awesome everyone, thanks0

You should cut whoever said that you out of your live. You don't need that kind of negativity.8

I've lost nearly 70lbs drinking at least 5 or 6 cups a day most days. Granted, I use Splenda and half-n-half, so my cups don't cost me as many calories.
I'm not about that un-caffinated life.2 -
For me coffee drops my blood sugar and makes me sleepy and ravenous - so its not great for weight loss.
I know thats the reverse of most people but this reaction is not uncommon.3 -
I've lost 25+ pounds (have been in maintenance for several months) and drink four large cups of coffee almost every day, each with two tablespoons of half and half or whole milk and two packs of Splenda. I think coffee has been a huge aid in weight loss for me, as a cup (even with half and half or milk) is relatively low calorie but satisfies my appetite for a good while.2

I drink black coffee once or twice a day and haven't noticed it make much of a difference at all.
If you're tracking your calories for the the cream/milk/sugar then you should be fine! If you want to know if it's impacting your losses then try and cut it out for a week or two and see if anything changes.2 -
I drink 2-4 cups per day. Coffee itself is low calorie, but the issue is what people add to it and higher calorie coffee-like drinks (lattes, mochas, etc.) because people often don't realize how many calories they're adding or consuming.1

Coffee actually speeds up your metabolism - especially black coffee. The stronger the better. For a lower calorie option just go for a teaspoon of coffee, a bit of skimmed milk and honey instead of sugar if u need to sweeten the taste. It won't make you gain weight (I'm a coffee lover and I'm doing fine). If ur into black coffee just opt for that. Or even better scratch the coffee and have some pure green tea1

Honey is sugar.1 -
Fit it in your calories and it will have no effect.0

I've lost 51lbs and I have always had at least 1 coffee a day with cream and sugar. Sometimes 2, occasionally 3. It just depended how I wished to allot my calories that day. Staying in a caloric deficit is all that matters to losing weight.1

if this was true id have to just deal with being fat FOREVER because there is no way I could give up coffee, iv cut down from around 11 cups a day to just 4 and have cut down from 2 sugars in each mug to having 1 sugar in 2 of them and 2 without.
but thats only to cut my calories down, not cut my coffee intake

That's so awesome - I'm having my coffee guilt free today.2

You'd have to pry my coffee out of my cold dead hands! I drink two cups a day and I've lost 85 lbs3
