Does breastfeeding count?

I'm still nursing a 9 month old 3 times a day. No idea how much she is getting. Does that factor in to the number of calories I should be eating each day?

Yes. I believe you can log it in MFP under exercise. They'll take that into account when figuring your calories for the day.

I am still nursing my 18 month old and I'm not sure either. He nurses maybe 2x a day. The onlything I can tell you for sure is when my calorie goal dropped to 1450 I know I had production issues and felt INSANELY hungry all the time. So I bumped it back up to 1600 and haven't had either of those problems and am still losing. The only articles I could find say each ounce takes about 20 calories and that nursing mothers shouldn't eat less than 1500 a day. The range they give is at least 1500-1800. There are perhaps more women with better information about it than I have, just wanted to chime in with what works for me!

It'll still count for some burned calories for sure, just not as much as when bubs was full time nursing. I'd say don't go below 1600 cals. My goal is set to 1610 for .5lb per week at sedentary. I add 300 cals as exercise for breastfeeding and my little girl is 6 months nursing 5 times a day and eating purees 3 times a day.
I've been averaging about 1700 cals daily and losing weight.

I nurse my daughter 3 times a day. I log in food under breastfeeding and it gives me a negative calorie. 20 calores per ounce. I figure being 12 months she gets at least 15 oz a day or so.
