Fitbit counts steps while doing elliptical. Is this normal ?

    If your arms/wrists are moving it will count steps. Mine counts steps when I am crocheting.

    Yes but don't log it as additional exercise as it will double your calories burned.

    If you are doing a step-like motion, the Fitbit may register it as steps. Does not sound unreasonable. :)

    I wore my fitbit while riding a motorcycle and got 20000 steps!
  • I discovered my Fitbit gave me steps while riding my bicycle (despite it recognizing the activity as cycling and showing 0 steps - still had steps added to my daily total), so I don't wear it while bike riding anymore.
