Okay so since I decided to reach out to more people using MFP I seem to just get guys wanting a date or something?!!! I am on here like everyone else searching for others in similiar situations and trying to stay healthy. I am hoping to see people's food and what they suggest to stay fit, not for a date!!! I am engaged and if you're looking for a date go on dating sites? That is all!

    Eh, it's like any social forum in that sense unfortunately. Lots of lurkers, creeps, and trolls. BUT there are a lot of great people too. I'd recommend sending requests to people's whose responses you like on the forums, or who have expressed similar goals and/or struggles. Or check out the Groups if you want to "e-meet" a larger group of people to connect with. I noticed you're new so it might also be that certain trolls are keeping an eye out for newcomers...hopefully that will subside with time. Until then, just ignore them :)

    I think the first time it happened to me was in 2004 on a pet bereavement and support group listserv. Seriously.

    Gross dudes who with no social skills offline gonna be gross dudes with no social skills online.

    Yeah, yeah, it'd be real swell if they didn't do it. Look for free cyber, that is, wherever they roam. Good luck with that crusade. Block and move on. Before or after telling them off as you see fit.

    Lol. Yeah, I get it. It's pervasive. I ride a motorcycle and was trying to meet people to ride with, and the first message or two would be normal, but quickly devolved into "So... do you ride your bike nekkid, I'd like to be your bike". Blah blah, moronic blah. A distinct advantage of showing my age (51) is that it drastically cuts down on the the number of guys who want to hit me up (I'm in a LTR and not looking). :)

    I tried to make my dog a black cat for Halloween. She was much less amused than I.


    OP, good call on changing your profile pic. I know that you shouldn't have to, but creepers be everywhere on the nets.
