thinner thighs...

so i have never been one to have "thin" or "skinny" thighs....i have muscular thighs to be exact and have no idea how to tone them without adding to the "bulk". yes i know females do not bulk like males do but they are not idk not exactly what i want.
i have always had legs like this btw...when i was a gymnast my event was vault, when i was in the weight lifting classes in high school in the women's 140 and above weight class i held a school record in not bench, not snatch, not clean and jerk BUT in the squat with 235lbs and now in college my legs are yet again my power house!
so any way to just tone and thin them out a bit? get rid of the inner thigh touching thing? i know i cant spot lose but any idea on what i can do to help in the general area?
thanks again!

I have the same problem! I'm curious as well. Also want to thin my calves too.0

There is a machine at my gym that targets inner thighs, not sure if that would help you, but if you belong to a gym, I would see if they have something like that there.0

I think its called the hip adductor machine0

Everybody dismisses my suggestion whenever I suggest walking, but brisk walking for about 45 minutes gets your heart rate up and develops your long muscle fibers (long for endurance, not short for power or speed). I walk at least 3 times a week, usually 4, and have for years, and am really happy with my legs.
Good luck!0 -
To lean thighs/butt. Try to stay away from elliptical/cybex/stairmaster. Instead walk/jog (intervals work best) Hope that helps!!0

bump....same issue....losing my gut and butt...legs not budging! Always had "thunder thighs" even as a skinny kid.....I like to say my "dancer thighs" ( I was in ballet/jazz for 11 yrs ) sounds better! Would love to know how to not have drumstick legs!!0

Oh my is this me! what has helped me is walking on a treadmill at a high incline at a speed of 2.5 and don't hold on unless you absolutely need to. I do kind of a walking lunge on there and I feel like it has made my thighs thinner.... and slimmed the back of them down.
For the inner thighs, sumo squats and side lunges. Just turn you're toes out a bit farther then normal and squat down... that will zap the inner thighs in no time!0 -
awesome ideas thank you for helping everyone!!! gonna take some of the advise to heart and hopefully will see some change0

you have leg muscles that are strong, most people don't, so it's a good thing. My thighs are 19.7 inches around and rock hard. They are probably my best asset, but they are big compared to most girls and the rest of my body. There is really nothing you can do besides try to lose fat in the area (so basically just diet and exercise), but you cannot get rid of muscle easily. I would not suggest trying to get rid of muscle anyways.
I would just try to learn to love them because they are always going to be large because they are supposed to be and because you work out regularly.
Unless you wanna drop your calories down to 1200 and stop working out all together and become a walking stick, there is really not much you can do.
If your goal is to be SKINNY then go for it, but if you goal is to be athletic and toned then congrats-- your legs are well on their way.0 -
