I've been thinking of getting a Wii to use for working out at home. Does anyone else use their Wii for workouts? Would you recommend it or should I save my money?

I think that is a great idea! I use my Wii for workouts a lot, and it burns a moderate amount of calories. After Wii boxing, I'm usually worn out.

I have a Wii and have wii fit plus, Just Dance and Zumba Fitness. Wii fit plus is a joke as far as workouts go, in my opinion. Just Dance gets your heartrate up for as long as each song lasts and Zumba Fitness has game and workout options, so you actually get your heart rate up and keep it up for a length of time.

Personally, I like my Wii better for entertainment purposes than fitness purposes.

LOVE IT!!!!!!! I have the wii fit plus with balance board and zumba fitness. Fit plus has aerobic, strength training, yoga, and games to improve your balance. There are also a ton of games that require you to be up and moving.

They have workout games that you can buy for the Wii. You can get the Wii fit, although I wouldn't necessarily depend on that as your exercise regime.

I have the Zumba for Wii, and it's fun and 20 minutes alone makes me work up a sweat. It comes with the waistband to put the wii remote in so it's "hands-free." If you like Zumba, or salsa dancing, you'll like the Wii Zumba game.

Research all of th exercise games for the Wii. The wii fit can be fun to play with your friends & family. There's even a biggest loser game for the wii.

I don't care much for video games, so I don't dig the WII. I also felt like the WII FIT yoga put my center of balance in the wrong places compared to real yoga.

I would suggest renting or borrowing a WII for a while before you buy. It's the same plan I have for all future WII stuff my kids want.

I got my Wii Fit Plus for xmas last year - I started out using it as my only exercise and I lost a 14lbs in a month just doing 30-60mins per day. Totally recommend it. I like the step aerobics, jogging and cycling best. The cycling gets me sweating like mad!

I don't use it as much now as I'm doing 30DS but it really helped build up my fitness..without my Wii I definitely wouldn't be doing this DVD

I use the Wii for most of my workouts. Specifically, I use the EA Active 2 "game". I also have Wii Fit, but don't find it gives much of a workout unless you're really out of shape, though the balance "games" are good. There are other workout "games" for the Wii.

If you're going to work out at home a lot, it can be worth the money.

I use my wii a lot because I have 2 small children. I have wii active sport, wii fitness, zumba... sport and zumba are good workouts. I like the fitness because it is mind over body. Meaning... if you play it and make it fun, you will get a workout. Zumbas graphics are ok..but it gives you a workout! One of the ladies is very much correct, there are lots of workout "games" for the wii.

I did the Wii Zumba and Just Dance 2, yesterday, and I am sore today. I think it is a fun way to get a workout, but of course I still go to the gym and for walks, but it is something fun to do to change things up a bit. I also have Wii Fit, & Wii Fit Plus, and a Wii Jillian Michales video I haven't done in a while, so gonna try again soon. It was really hard from what I remember, but I am obese, so nothing is really easy.
