ok.... i am falling short on what i had planned for the year (mile wise)... i just wan to know what the take is on counting ALL your steps in your mileage .vs. just counting when you do a workout (walking in my case). have i been cheating myself? or is using the miles you get from your "daily" steps cheating? lol

It's cheating if you're breaking rules against it. Is this for a contest?

I let fit bit count steps for general activity and to keep up with step challenges. For running I use Runtastik app to count miles and time. I also wear the fitBit when running but because they are both synced to MFP I do not get exercise calories for both.

I've got 1,893,392 steps in two years. Running, Jogging, designated "walks"... basically anything my step counter picks up.

Daily steps goals are just that step goals. You should be counting every step you take. You don't float when you go for a walk or a run, so count em.....

lol no its not a competition.... except for me. but i feel this guilt about it for some reason. up until a few months ago i would have been okay not counting it, because i was walking so much, but then i hurt my back and it has put me behind... so i guess thats why i feel guilty... or like its cheating, do you know what i mean? because before i was not counting it as exercise.... it was just "steps" idk... your right though i don't float lol ( i liked that)
