not loosing weight

I'm conflicted, I've been lifting a lot more and gaining some weight back but I have gotten a lot stronger but I want to be loosing fast while I get stronger.

I could use some friends to help me figure this out

    Are you lifting weights (weight training)?
    If so you're gain is more than likely muscle.
    You need to do some cardio to help shed the lbs.

    having the same issue...working out with trainer - hopefully building and gaining muscle/lean weight, feeling stronger and running farther...cardio on off days... but not seeing anything happen on the scale. Wondering if it is possible to build muscle and loose weight at the same time. Hoping someone will have some answers...thanks for posting!
  • How much cardio do you do? You probably already know this, but cardio will burn fat while weight lifting will build muscle. Maybe try upping your cardio and lessen your weight lifting (but don't completely rid yourself). This might up your fat loss while also building your muscles. Hope this helps a bit! Good luck! :)

    thats why I dont do any strength training now ..... I wanna get under 200lbs then ill hit the weights

    I was hitting the cardio hard and lifting lighter and noticed i was loosing some muscle mass while my gym had their biggest looser competition going. when that ended I started lifting heavy. my cardio has gone down a bit because my wife can't keep up on cardio (an Hour on the elliptical is a little much for her, lol) I am gaining more strength back but just noticed I gained over 15lbs back doing it.

    Just remember.... not losing weight is not the same as not losing fat. The proof is in the pudding! How are your clothes fitting? You know Shakira's song, 'My Hips Don't Lie'? Well... they don't! Are your jeans loose? Need a new belt? Then you're doing great.

    As to losing more fat, you may need to increase your cardio. Maybe you should, I don't know...just a thought....try an all cardio week and see what happens? In fact, I think I'll do that, too!

    yeah, I needed to get new jeans and now I have to wear a belt with everything and my tshirts seem longer, but I still have a long way to go. and I don't want to do the body builder thing because I like my liver lol.
