Getting Sick After Weight Training

I've been weight training with a trainer for a couple of months now, I try to go twice a week. And every time towards the end of the workout, I have to rush to the bathroom to get sick! It's a bit concerning and a nuisance. I get a little light headed as well. There was a time I weight trained hard and I would leave the gym just fine, energetic even. What are probable causes? I eat healthy and probably snack 2-3 hours before a workout. Admittedly my water intake throughout the day can be better but I do drink sips of water while working out. Am I pushing myself too hard? Too much, too fast? My trainer gives me a 15-30 second break in between sets. I just don't know what's going on and frankly it's making me hesitant to weight train but definitely seeing results!!! Help!!

Most of the time people get nauseated because of the time and type of food they eat prior to working out. This also can depend on the individual, i can eat dairy within an hour (before) of working out and be fine.
Light headed can be from you not breathing right, and accidentally causing a vagal response. Basically if you're holding your breath while you lift, you're inadvertently causing what's called a valsalva maneuver. Also it could be that you're not hydrated ENOUGH, a few sips probably isn't enough for an intense workout. I can down .25 gallons of water or more in a less than an hour workout.1 -
I was trying to think about I was eating when I could workout a full session and I was taking plant-based protein powder but the iron was a little too much for me if you know what I mean...
And as far as breathing, I don't hold my breath when I lift but I will try to be more mindful of even flow breathing!

Could be possible you're overdoing it. Certain exercises I can only do in moderation (deadlifts being one), else I feel sick just like you. Switch up the routine a bit and see what works!1

Switch up what you are eating before the workout.
Hydrate more throughout the day. If I drink too much water during workouts, I feel like I will throw up.1 -
I don't think you're overdoing it, and it's certainly not Rhabdo. You just have to find a balance of food and water that works for you.

I've learned (through numerous unpleasant episodes) that I'm prone to nausea when I push myself hard. No matter what/when I eat, it happens if I overdo it. I think some folks are just more likely to get sick than others. But in time you learn your limits and can usually prevent it.1

What did your trainer say?
I'm guessing not enough carbs in the hours prior to the session and/or not enough rest between sets.0 -
Trainer doesn't say much! Mentioned it a few times before, lessened my sets and takes it easy on me!0
