I have one cup of coffee in the morning and need to sweeten with something. Which is the better sweetener? Sugar or Stevia? And if sugar....which type? Help!

I always would add approximately a teaspoon of plain sugar to my coffee. I logged it and it was not an issue with fitting in to my calories. Now I have weaned myself off sweet coffee and just do a little fat free half n half (some people hate it, but I really don't notice a difference)!

You can also buy sugar free syrups to sweeten. For me, the taste of most things sugar free is unpleasant. I prefer just a little bit of real sugar and I'm still alive!

I, personally, love Stevia so that is what I use in coffee and then use a lightly sweetened flavored almond milk creamer. If I didn't put the cream in my coffee, I'd use real sugar.

I use truvia and you just made me sad because I ran out and forgot to buy more today. Another sad coffee for me tomorrow.

I personally dislike artificial sweeteners even the "natural" ones. I have 1 tsp sugar in my coffee every morning and it's fine.

    The key is moderation.

I like Sugar. We use Zulka morena brand but that's a personal preference. (It's not filtered through bone char)

Sugar is what? 16 calories per teaspoon? If you don't like artificial sweeteners just go for regular sugar, or if you are used to drinking it very sweet (a tablespoon or more) you could do half sugar half sweetener if you find a kind that doesn't taste too offensive to you.

Personally I've always had it black no sugar, but for certain types of tea I use regular sugar, honey or sweetener, depending on the tea.

Bottom line: use what tastes best to you (or not worse than another higher calorie alternative).
