30 day shred question (sorta)

This isn't really a question per se, more like a rambling. I've been doing the shred for a week now and I don't actually burn a lot of calories doing it, the most I've burned is 120. I don't understand how someone that isn't doing another typo of cardio can actually lose weight and see results with the shred considering the small amount of calories it burns. Of course, there is always diet but I think in order for the shred to work, if you are not doing anything else, you must change your diet. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the idea of the shred along being effective.

Have any of you done the shred and nothing else and still gotten results?

    my plan was to just start of with the shred, but everytime im done with my daily exercise i am so full of energy i usually go out for a powerwalk with the whole family.. i do notice alot fo change in my body and i have lost 7 lbs in the frst 7 days. but then again i did walk about 30 minutes everyday aswel :o
    i love the shred, but find jilliand a bit annoying I COULD ALWAYS USE A GOOD CHESTFLY IN MY LIFE

    If you are fairly fit to start with, you are going to have to pour it on to burn the cals you want. If you can't do the advanced moves, put a lot of effort and energy into the beginner moves. Remember, 2/3 of the circuits are strength and abs; only 1/3 cardio. But building those muscles helps you burn more calories just breathing, so keep it up!!

    I stopped after about 5-6 days as my knees started playing up and i had to train for my 5k and half marathon. But i found i burned about 290 cals, log it under circuit training, general

    When I first started working out in November, I lost 18lbs by January doing the shred every morning. Occasionally I would add a half an hour on the treadmill, but my main workout was the shred. If I remember correctly, I also lost 3 inches from my bust, 3 from my stomach, 2 from each arm and 2 from each thigh. I have noticed that now when I do it, level 1 does absolutely nothing for me and I have to start at level 2 and 3. Since then I have bought her 40 minute DVDs that definitely get the job done.

    I don't do the 30ds every day as I feel like I need more cardio and the dvd doesn't burn many calories, although it is challenging. I get SO tired of hearing her talk about not phoning it in, blah blah...

    I'm fairly fit. I'm a runner and a cyclist doing the shred for the strength workouts and i'm not really concerned with the amount of calories it burns (for me). It's sort of cross training for me. I was mostly wondering about people who only do the shred but I guess it works!

    and yes, she's annoying! At the beginning of workout 1, when she's saying that if you want to look like Natalie you need to do what she does and you'll be there in no time, she then says "Sure..." and it sounds to me very sarcastic, like "yeah right!" LOL Maybe it's just me.

    When you log it under circuit training-general, does it take into account your weight? Because it tells me I burn 148 calories doing 20 minutes of 30DS, but I've noticed that's lower or higher than what I've heard from other people.

    I use a heart rate monitor (Garmin 310xt), not this website's calculator so I don't know what that would say.

    ETA: I just checked and it says I burn 200 calories. I think not!

    More than "the neck is not invited to this party"? Can't wait to move on to Level 2 to hear some more gems.... It is working though!

    Once I had the moves down I just put my head phones on and then that way I didn't have to listen to her lol. Oh and when she says you should feel like you wanna die...the fist day I did that one I couldn't even muster up the breath to say HELL YEA I DO! :laugh:

    I've done the 30DS so many times I know all the dialogue! Maybe I should switch it to Spanish just to change things up!
