I read this this AM and was appalled. I don't want to judge, becauseI understand everyone has the right to screw themselves up if they want...but it still baffles my mind...

    thats just crazy ,why would anyone want to achieve that goal .and then implicate her daughter to do it ,then she will feel bad when her mom has alot of heatlh issues and its an excuse to be lazy and mooch

    If it's the woman I'm thinking of, she got a lot of press when she first announced her goal to be the world's heaviest woman. IMO, she has some serious mental health issues.

    Wow, I've always been a believer that it's what's inside the person that matters most, not what's outside. But, really, this woman is less attractive inside than out. To think, there are people that would actually pay to see a picture of her sitting on someone??? Ugh, what a world.

    Edit: and not to be a completely insensitive jerk, but I have a feeling she's probably setting herself up for the Darwin awards (i.e. death by stupidity) more than the Guinness Book of World Records.

    I doubt that people are really entertained by this. Rather, I believe most of us just cannot believe how/why someone would want to do something like this. It's like people who can't resist looking at an accident scene as they drive by.....they don't' want to see blood and gore, but yet, they kinda do. Personally, I think she is incredibly selfish in involving her little daughter like that, and not only that, she may not live to see the child grow up. Sad really.

    I don't care about her...its her daughter I'm worried about. What is this going to do to her mentally as she gets older, living perhaps without a mother being put in a position to actively participate in a act that can lead to her own mother's death? (yep a run on sentence)

    So I think that is terrible. I can't imagine being proud of being so out of control. Some people joke about their weight as a coping mechanism, but she is actually TRYING to gain weight? She needs counseling.

    It's actually a pretty common form of pornography nowadays. So yes, it is actually entertainment, and yes, there are a lot of gents (and women) out there who subscribe to it for fetish value.

    As far as I'm concerned that's like a meth-addict who gets their kids to get their drugs ready for them.
    Or an alcoholic who sends their kids to the liquor store.

    I think this is terrible. Its not that she makes money or her goal of the heaviest woman for a record or that guys like this sort of thing, its her attitude while involving her daughter. She obviously doesn't see a problem making her daughter go shopping with her and feed her - she is teaching her 4-yr old that eating and gaining weight is what is important to her in life! Development at that girl's age is critical - kids often have a need to copy their parent's behavior or behave in a way to satisfy the parent! This poor girl is only going to gain acceptance from her mother as long as she continues to feed her junk until she dies! My heart goes out to this girl - she needs a parent that isn't so selfish and thinks of her daughter's well-being and health. And what is her daughter going to think when she gets older and in middle school or high school and her mother can't see her play sports because she can't get out of the house? Or when her male classmates say they saw her mother on some raunchy website? That's assuming that her mother lives that long, which is a pretty big assumption to make...

    First off I have to say...

    She wants to get into the Guinness book as the world's heaviest woman. I guess it doesn't matter to her if she sets the record as a DEAD woman. She's already got high blood pressure, diabetes, and everything else that weight will do to us... yet she's on a quest to gain 300 more pounds.

    My heart goes out to her little daughter. I hope there's a responsible family member that will step in, either now or when mommy is gone.
    I can't believe she's allowed to keep her child under these circumstances.

    Her poor daughter. And my favorite, ironic, part of the article is that she would like her next partner to be "handsome, slim and at least 10 years younger than me," Where is the "puke face" smiley??

    Might be horrible of me to think this, but maybe that poor girl would be better off without a mother like that. I know... your mom is your mom, no matter who she is or what problems she has, and I'm not wishing tragedy on their family, but I can't help but feel that the child deserves a parent who can take care of her, not one who makes her work as a food delivery servant for her unhealthy obsession.

    Yeah, it's a little insensitive to think, but she's better off under the care and supervision of someone else. If they can pull children from unsafe homes due to parental drug and alcohol abuse, hoarding or safety conditions, or mental instability, I'm not sure how this differs.

    with all the statistics of negative affects and risks of being obese can do to one's health... I agree that it is no different than a child being with a meth head or an alchoholic... the child should be put in the care of someone who isn't killing themselves.. and INSURANCE for someone like that... should be too HIGH RISK to be insured... It is like she is asking for an early death.

    This lady is still making headlines? Crazy.

    I'm pro-choice with most things, and I include dieting in there. Her body, her choice.

    That being said, I do worry about her kid, but she loves the kid and takes care of her, so there are worse-off children out there, with way worse examples being set. At least this woman is honest and law-abiding (as far as I know).
