not a ton of photo's because my wife asked someone how long it would take to finish, and they told her about an hour, and I was done in 40 minutes (there was a lot of mud, 3 days of rain, else I would have been done in like 32 or 33 I think) so I walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. Anyway, here are the photo's

Pre-race, in the starting line:

Post-race, still pretty dirty:

Post-race after I had a chance to clean up:

was a great time though.

I'm doing the Warrior Dash in MI on July 31st!! lol, after some recent knee surgery (about a month ago) I'm not going to hope for "great" speed LOL, but just wanted to know I can do it!!

    I can't wait...looks like it was a lot of fun :)

Awesome! And I'm jealous because I won't be able to make it this year (next year for me).

Thanks guys, and good luck to you guys who are trying it for the first time.

@c00ncc that depends on your compete level and how serious you take it. I took it as a race, a real race, which meant I ran the whole thing, and our course was a sloppy mess, they actually removed 2 obsticles because there was to much mud (it rained for 3 days before the race) so times were slower than usually (by like 3 minutes on average, which for a 5K is a BIG difference), a lot of people walked, in which case I doubt it would have been all that hard, if you can walk 4 miles and climb a rope ladder then this will be a piece of cake, but wear clothes and sneakers you don't care about.

Oh and as a courtesy, don't walk 4 abreast in the path, forcing runners to pass in the areas that are not well trodden or more dangerous, I almost killed myself a few times because some of the people were in groups taking the whole path and I had to detour into the deep woods to go around them, really, some say "just ask them to move" but in reality, you are concentrating on your footing, not looking up that often (if you do, you WILL fall) so you don't see folks until they are very close, and at that point, you either have to stop and wait for them to move over, or go around. I know this sounds like whining, but it was very annoying because I was going for time, and I literally lost about 4 minutes stopping and starting or running over logs and through thorn bushes to get around people at a leisurely walk. I have no issue with folks walking it, just give the rest of us a path to run if we like.

Gonna be participating in one in a couple weeks here in Minnesota and looking forward to it. I've never ran in a 5k or other race before. My wife and I are going with a group of friends - it should be fun. Good advice on the leaving space for those that are going faster to pass - we will likely be sticking together as a group during the race.

I was at this one! The mud was CRAZY!! it was soo much fun!!
I agree about the 4 across people- it was nuts... I ended up with Poison IVY all over my legs from running outside of the trail because people were walking - not that walking was a problem because there were some points where I had to walk but they were walking 4 people across arm in arm singing!!! come on people I know it is supposed to be fun but MOVE! :) it was still a blast though!! Congrats on your time... I did it in 56 mins but only becuase I lost my shoe once and some kid freaked out at the top of the wall and wouldnt go over the top and I couldnt get past him without kicking him in the head!! owell - there is always next year to try for a better time!!!

that happened to me on the balance beam, I was up the ramp and some girl drops down and grabs the beam and looks back like she's 30 floors up. I'm like, come on, it's 6 feet down, worst case is you fall and sprain an ankle, either go or get off. I finally backed down and ran up another one, lost like 30 full seconds on that stupid obstacle. I hear you on that wall. Same thing happened to me on the cargo net (at the hill top), I got to the top fast, was about to loop my leg over and realized the girl above me was afraid to swing over, I looked her in the eye and said, "swing over, I won't let you fall (selfish motives, I wanted her to get out of my way, but she didn't know that  ). so she did, and I swung over right behind her once she had her food in a loop. then I scampered half way down and jumped, then literally sprinted to the hill and jumped off, nearly killed some dude who was sliding slow. It was great, people were looking at me like I was the devil. I'm thinking, "WHAT? Does nobody compete anymore?"

If this was the Amesbury run in MA, I was there too! As this was my first Warrior Dash, I am soooo glad that it was as muddy as it was. It allowed me to enjoy it as an event, rather than stress about a time.

For anyone even considering it, it is worth every penny. Bring your friends and a positive attitude. The rest will work itself out!

I did my first one in Jan. And it was a blast!! It was my first 5K, with little km no training and I finished in I believe it was 54 minutes.so it is definitely a blast regardless of level!! My friends and I are going to make it an annual adventure :)

Thanks for sharing your pictures and congrats on your time!!
