Anyone having probs losing the last 2lbs? Anyone else also having probs with relatives and friends saying you're getting too thin and you should stop? Even though you haven't reached your goal weight?

Yeah it can take me months to lose 2 lbs.
When I was lighter I had some people urge me to kind of stop losing where I was. I'm 5'4" and was only 128 though so I wasn't worried.2 -
Not so much problems as that I do note that the last bits are harder. I know it is because my deficit is getting less (simply at a lower weight your BMR drops). I know this and I know the last bit is going to take the longest.
I simply compare it to one of our holidays. We were on the last leg of the great glen walk (From one end of the Scottish Highlands to the other end) on the hill overlooking Inverness and could see then endpoint of our journey. However it was still 7km from that point. That 7km was harder than any 7km earlier during the journey, but we got there and were more than elated that we did. Best part? We got a free upgrade in our hotel and that is what I keep in mind. It may be hard but the rewards will be better than imagined.
I am getting the people that tell me to stop. I tell them; I started when good and ready and I'll finish when I am good and ready. It also help that I tell them that I am simply aiming for th middle of a healthy BMI for my height. Nothing more and nothing less.3 -

Love this!!!1 -
People can't get used to the new you…so they open their big mouths and say to stop dieting because they want you to look more like you used to look..so they feel comfortable.8

To lose the last few I stopped eating back exercise calories. I just wanted to see that goal weight once and then I was fine with maintaining within a 5 pound range. Because it took forever I figured that if I continued with the same calories and ate back exercise calories I would maintain- wrong! I actually lost 3 more pounds without meaning to or trying. That's fine- I am continuing to maintain and keeping an eye on it.2

Depending on how sassy I'm feeling on any given day...I tell people that the only people that get to tell me that I'm getting too thin are the people who were brave enough to tell me that I was too fat!
For the record, that is exactly two people...my midwife and my Bariatric surgeon!
...and yes, the last few pounds is a pain. I'm less than 5 from goal and it is agonizing compared to losing when I was heavier.6 -
I don't think 2 Lbs is going to make a bit of difference either way...I swear some people just obsess about some arbitrary number on the scale which is ultimately pretty meaningless.1

2-3 lbs makes a difference for me. For sure. No doubt about it.9 -
I don't know about 2 pounds making a difference but 5 CERTAINLY does for me... Something that I did NOT anticipate... I was just told today that Someone needs to feed me a sandwich!! When truthfully I've been pretty lax the last two weeks and eating LOTS of sandwiches.. The scale has gone up and I'm already seeing it in my waist!! Next week I'm getting back on it!!2

5lbs for sure.
I mean, I say 2-3 lbs makes a difference for me but only if I'm relatively lean already.1 -

2lb makes a difference for me, not for my husband, but then again he is much taller than I am and stores the weight quite differently.
Plus it has something to do with achieving a goal that was set which is utterly satisfactory. So maybe this is true for you, but as others have said it does make a difference to others3 -

True, but it's gives some peace of mind to know that you've set a goal at a particular number, and u just want to reach it. You're right, not much of a difference, but it's like getting a 100% vs 98%.....same A, however totally different grades...
Not meaningless Hun. Means alot to me.

Eat very low carb for 2-3 days and you should be able to drop them overnight just to see the number you want and get it out of your system. You will regain them later of course when you start eating normally again, but you will have accomplished what you've set out to do. If you are looking to maintain a constant weight that is 2 lbs lower than now, you will be very disappointed. As soon as you stop dieting you will gain some weight (pure water/glycogen/food in the system), and even if you don't right away, daily weight fluctuations are inevitable so you will not be able to keep a steady weight that is 2 lb lower than now.3

When I reached my goal weight last year, I encountered an old acquaintance and she was a little over the top. Telling me I was way too thin etc. I told her that I was actually in the middle range for my height and small bones according to the chart at my Doctors office. She told me I should get a new Dr. LOL! At the time it upset me, looking back later I realized that she was comparing herself to me. She was only an inch taller but was built a bit differently. Her frame was broader. I don't think she could wrap her head around it. A healthy weight for one person is not necessarily the same for another.0

Been in maintenance for a few months now; I gave myself a five pound padding to my goal....that way I'm still happy, regardless if I gain one or lose one....1
