I need a lot of motivation at the moment. I need to know how people just do it when you wake up with headaches and just feel sick. I need to know how you other women find the motivation during TOM??? I'm really stuck this month, i hardly ate anything yesterday because i was feeling horrible!! I didn't even do my workout!
How do you stay motivated when your body says it only wants to lay down and die the next week????
 :explode:

This may not be helpful... but to motivate myself, I kind of try to trick myself...
I tell myself that all I have to do is 10 minutes of light exercise. 10 minutes that's it... and that usually turns into 15... or 20... or 100 more calories.
Just start small. Maybe a 10 minute walk. Then you gotta turn around and come home...I need a lot of motivation at the moment. I control my body, not the other way around. I dont give it time to gripe about how it feels about working out. (My body NEVER wants to workout! LOL) Its happening. Today was a great example. I inadvertantly ate WAAY too little yesterday, therefore I had NO ENERGY for a vigorous workout today. However, that was MY PLAN, therefore it happened. And yes, the body protested nearly the entire time. However when it was all said and done, though I exerted less effort and energy, I still felt VERY PROUD AND ACCOMPLISHED!! Slight of injury or pain, I dont let my body decide. Good luck!0

Well, in my experience motivation and change can only come from within. When you finally get sick and tired of being" sick and tired" then things will change for you.
I know because I was there. My husband encouraged me, my family wished well for me and my friends cheered me....but in the end I did NOTHING until I was ready.
You will get there. :flowerforyou:0 -
It's mind over matter really.
You don't feel like working out, but if you don't, there will be no changes.
You have to make the choice to workout or not.
We can encourage you & try to motivate you sweetie but what it boils down to
is you making the decision to tell your body to be quiet and just do it.
Some days will be harder than others--we all have days like that.
But if we continuously let our "feelings" control what we do or don't, change won't happen.
I sympathize with you about headaches. I used to get them often. I just take an aleve for pain.
If the headaches are stress related---exercise is a good stress reliever.
If you're feeling this way bcuz of TOM, maybe try midol or pamprin for symptoms. (midol doesn't work for me, but pamprin does).
Exercise is also good for combating TOM cramps.0 -
