Hi,

I am wondering if fresh or raw veggies have sodium? I started eating more fresh veggies and noticed that the database shows sodium in veggies.

Carrots, onions, green onions, cucumber, orange bell pepper, spinach in particular.

Thanks!

Yup. And sugar. That's what makes them taste like anything. :)

But it's relatively low for most veggies. And bodies need sodium. Don't worry.

Yep. It's a naturally occurring mineral. And our bodies need sodium. Just not in mass quantities.

There may be naturally occurring sodium in some veggies, but far less than what is added to processed food.

Here's a chart of amounts per veggie.

Sodium is just as important to plant cellular processes as it is to yours! :)

I am having the same problem, it's getting so frustrating for me, because everything has so much sodium,
here I give up table salt, and believe me that was a giant leap for me, i ate waaaay to much of it, I replaced
it with salt substitute, but now i have to worry about the sodium that is in my food!

I am usually under on everthing important except sometimes I go over on sodium.
I hate raw veggies, so I need help in this dept. too..didn't want you to feel alll alone!
