MFP and Garmin Connect - Which Calories to Believe?

My garmin connect says I have 645 calories left and MyFitnessPal says I have -55 calories left. I am using a Vivosmart HR. I have the goal set to lose 1.5 lbs a week and the two are synced. I am not putting exercise into MFP manually and the only calorie burning activity that goes into MFP is the workouts that I time using the setting on the garmin. Which should I believe and hence eat by?

Also having this issue and would appreciate a reply. It seems my adjusted goal from Garmin Connect is not being uploaded to MFP - any suggestions?

My Garmin vivofit2 and MFP haven't been talking to each other for 2 1/2 months. I sent a message to MFP tech and they said it was Garmin's problem....Garmin says it is MFP's problem. *sigh* I just use the MFP numbers

Thank you. I am so sorry others are having this problem too but glad I am not alone... Hopefully, they get it works out soon. Until then I guess I'll use MFP numbers since they are lower and adjust slightly if needed.... :/

Its the way Garmin calculates total calories (using BMR + using their own defined activity level + heart rate calculation). You can try to make sure you activity level in Garmin is set to 1 and see if that brings in more of normal number. It might bring down the adjustment, but most likely not all of it.

    Garmin's calories are more accurate.

This is not a problem, Garmin changed a few things in their calcuations. The system or data is not broken as poster said above.
