That sofa will be still there when you're back.
Now, get up and GO you lazy so-and-so!6 -
Think about why you want to go to the gym instead of what else you could be doing. Whatever you do, live with the consequences.5

Get up, put on your gym kit then if you still want to be on the couch go do it.2
-
Because you will feel better about yourself & life in general after going to the gym. Laying on the sofa will have the opposite effect.3

Ive only gone and done it......
My excuses this morning were
1. it was too late by the time I got up.
2. I had a cup of tea and cereal for breakfast so I couldnt exercise on a full stomach.
3. I had to give a lift to my son and his girlfriend.
4. My Ipod wasnt charged so I couldnt exercise without music.
By 1pm I had run out of viable excuses so I got my shorts and vest on. it is such a sunny day here I wanted to go and get some rays.
I ran for 39 minutes. Didnt go fast and the first 10 minutes were a bit of a drag, but then the endorphins kicked in and I actually felt quite good. By 20 minutes I was thinking "why dont I do this every day".
Got home had a stretch and drank some water. Relaxed out on the patio.
Feeling good about myself..8 -
You will never regret that you went to the gym. If you don't go, you'll totally regret it.2

You don't have to go to a gym. You don't have to sit on the sofa all day.
What do you like about going to a gym? Have you been going regularly? Do you do the same thing all the time?
Maybe today you should try a different activity or have a rest day. You could do some yoga, go for a walk, do a workout video, ride a bike, roller skate, dance, etc. You could scrub your house from told to bottom, garden, chop wood, paint your walls, build something. You could just chill out for today.0 -
Relaxing on the sofa is even more enjoyable *after* a workout!0

Hi. Theres nothing i dont like about going to the gym. I dont go regularly (at all) I just cant seem to make those first steps to get there. Kev0 -
Of course you can sit on the couch. AFTER the gym. Or sit around, let life pass you by, eat and drink *kitten*, die early. YOUR choice.0

I exercise after work and I force myself to by telling myself I'm not allowed dinner until I do. Maybe you can't take a nap or watch TV until after the gym1

Been there done that SO many times. That first step is usually the hardest one for me. Once I can get that first step in I'm good.1 -

Every little bit of exercise helps keep you here on Planet Earth.0 -
Because it means you can eat more without gaining weight.
Because it gets you out of the house.
I always end up bored at home though... so it's easy for me.0 -
Blah blah blah...suck it up and go!!

You want wisdom? Okay... YOU'RE GOING TO DIE, MOST LIKELY TOMORROW, IF YOU DON'T GET UP AND STAY UP!0

Cliche but "Just do it" lol. Works for me!1

Dont go the gym. I only have a gym membership in the winter. Summers are meant for being outside. Run. Walk. Swim. Bike. Paddle a kayak, a canoe, or an SUP. In other words.....play. Just like when you were a kid. And don't forget the sun screen2

My favorite is something I heard recently on a reddit thread:
"Motivation will get you going, Discipline will get you there"1 -
Do you want to move forward or go back to where you were?1

SOOOOO funny. I swear: on my gym days (well, post-work gym evenings = more like it!), I literally have to change directly from my work to gym clothes and completely avoid the couch so I don't bail on my workouts!
Funny how once you start.... it's OK.
(today's silver lining: someone had the show "family feud" blasting from one of the TVs. An odd choice... yet a welcome distraction!
almost made it to 6k on the treadmill before I realized I met the day's goal and could stop0
