Hi everyone, I'm Alex, 42 years old and finally graduated from 'Yeh I know I'm a bit overweight but curvy is a thing too' to 'oh my crap I'm 83 kilos and look good naked is such a distant dream I'm now clothed even in my own fantasies'. So I read up on What Science Says, and it led me to download 'The Hacker's Diet' (seems like the closest fit {bad pun unfortunately intended} for a linguistics nerd), Michael Moseley's BBC documentary on intermittent fasting, and My fitness pal. So far it's working out for me, but it's only been a week. If I think I'm going to falter I think I might also set up a BeeMinder to kick my *kitten* back into line. However, the other tool that's meant to be an effective motivator is community, so.. here I am. Hello everyone!
