I've lost 135 lbs. in my 50s after living 30 years in obesity

I started with Weight Watchers and lost about 40 lbs. before getting stuck on a 16-month plateau. Then I switched to MyFitnessPal.com and lost 95 lbs. in about 14 months. My journey has been an amazing (often frustrating) experience.

Well done! I'm where you were...sort of. I lost 80 + pounds several years ago, gained it back and am now in the "thinking stage" you describe in your blog. You've inspired me. If you can, I can, right?!! Thanks so much for sharing!0

Thank you for writing the blog. I am 65, and so frustrated. I have been trying to lose weight for 2 years, with no success. I have also thought about joining WW. I have not read all of your blog, but you have given me hope, and also, made me face reality. I don't always log that glass of wine, or crackers I eat before bed. So its no wonder I am not losing. Thank you for sharing your success story.0

WOW!! Wonderful!!! May I ask how tall you are?0

Way to go!0

Thanks everybody for your lovely messages! Someone asked how tall I am: 5'10. Thank goodness for being taller than most because otherwise I would have looked a lot rounder at my heaviest! It was hard enough to get around as it was. For those of you struggling, particularly being stuck on a plateau, as Fla (my trainer) would say, "It HAS to be the food!" I've found that 90% of our successful journey is the food. Exercise does a lot for us but food/calories is the culprit. Good luck everybody!0

Wow, that is so inspiring. I am just beginning on my journey and have 115 lbs. to lose. However, I know that I need to take it one day at a time. I've only been counting my calories and working out for 2 weeks and I'm already down 11 lbs. I'm setting myself with 20 lb goals. Thank you for posting it was very encouraging.0
