Hey all,

I'm looking for suggestions for a meal based around kidney beans. Looking for something with about 50%carbs 25% protein, 25% fat, made with fairly standard ingredients (nothing I would need to go to a special shop for).

Chili! With ground turkey or beef, kidney beans, a can of tomatoes (however diced or whole you like), and a pack of chili spices. If you don't eat meat, you can make it without the meat. You can also make taco salad with kidney beans.

    Chili
Eggs scrambled with the beans, avocado, tomato, etc.
    Ham and beans
    Burritos
    Add to a salad

I use beans in chili and minestrone soup.

Please don't feel compelled to make all your meals fit your macro split. Meals are traditionally different through the day, and dinner is often the main source of protein and fat for the day. Variety is important for good nutrition, and being flexible reduces boredom and makes it easier to stick to your allotted calories.

just make a pot of beans and some cornbread or onions or cheese or sour cream to top it with...mash them and make bean burgers...stuff them into shells with spaghetti sauce and top with cheese...stuff them into shells with salsa and top with cheese and tomato and green onions like a taco...oh, stuff them in tacos instead of meat...

Pasta salad is great this time of year - pasta, beans, lots of finely diced veg, cheese cubes if you want, and Italian dressing.

How much you eat is much more important to weight loss than what it's comprised of. Even if you really want to stick to a certain macro ratio you don't need to do it for individual meals. My breakfast is usually higher protein than my lunch, for example.

Eating well this month has an awesome "formula" for bean soup. It may help give you ideas on how to vary the flavor.
