How many calories is MFP off compared to your HRM?

I would invest in a HRM. I found that my calorie burn was way off from what MFP said it should be.0

Thanks for all the replies! I guess I am not going to worry too much about it then. If it's underestimating my calorie burn that is helping me! Thanks again!0

You also have to take into account whether your heart rate monitor backs out the calories you would have burned just sitting around for that time you spent exercising.0

Running - according to my HRM I burn about 500 cals an hour, at 90% of max heart rate. According to MFP, about 750.
Circuits - MFP - 480 an hour, HRM - about the same, maybe a bit less
Aerobics - MFP - around 400 an hour - HRM - about 350
30 Day Shred - MFP - about 280, HRM - 125
Rowing - MFP 150 cals per 30 mins, HRM - 320 per 30 mins.0 -
hundreds off for some things pretty close for others.0

Mine has been off by at least half - as in, MFPs estimation is half what I burned. I guess MFP thinks I don't work hard and burn a lot! lol0
