Off the top of my head, I'd say Mexican. Too many cream sauces with Italian.0

Honestly - if you are ok with Fajitas - Mexican is FAR better for you - although both are high in Sodium...
That being said - I suppose you could get a salad at either place :snickers:0 -
Picking between Mexican & Italian is like choosing a favorite child -- how can you pick? Tonight, I'd say Mexican. Arriba!!

As far as I'm concerned, Italian really should include sauce, cheese, and bread, so I would go with Mexican.0

Cant go wrong with fajitas!!!0

I'd say Mexican food in general. If you do decide Italian though, I'd say skip the bread, have a small amount of pasta with a tomato based sauce, and a nice big salad before.
good luck! 0 -
honestly, theyre kind of equal- mexican has a lot of cheese, so does italian, but you can always just opt for tomato sauce and pasta, without cheese
just make sure you pick the healthiest option from whatever you choose!0 -
Depends......avoid the white sauces on Italian and ginormous portions of pasta and oil. Avoid greasy meat and cheese and the complimentary chips that might go with Mexican. If you have the right mind set, you can get fairly healthy food at each, but the portions are so big, you might want to order ala carte, or take half home.0

damn!!! Now I'M hungry for Mexican food!!!!   :laugh:0

There has got to be healthy options with both.0

i'd say they're about even -- either way, they're both full of cheese and carbs.
one night out won't ruin your progress, and a nice meal with your man might be worth the extra calories!0 -
I'd go with Mexican too, but not by much. With Italian you are getting all the pasta and sauces, but with Mexican you are getting tortillas and guacamole and sour cream. But at least with the Mexican you can swap with tomatoes and onions and have a killer salsa for next to no calories, and you'll probably feel fuller much longer even if you did splurge.0

Remember Italian is alot more than just spaghetti and lasagne! Look for someplace that serves southern italian fare. Lots of grilled meats & veggies, seafood, not so much of the pastas and creamy stuff!0
-
Mexican--just tell em to hold the cheese.0

mexican have much better options. Some were mentioned already. Chicken, fish tacos are pretty light if you just have 2.0

well i guess mexican won! hubby said we're having mexican tonight no matter what :grumble: so guess ima go eat my heart out lol i earned it! :bigsmile:0

Agreed. You can substititue guacamole and sour cream with salsa! Very tasty too!
Also tell them light on cheese or ask for it on the side. 0 -

Fajitas for Mexican. Whole wheat pasta w/ tomato sauce for Italian (Applebee's actually has some great low cal pastas)..... For future reference. How is TGIFs for healthy options?0
