I've been on MFP for years. I'll go strong for a few weeks, or even a few months and then for some excuse or another I quit. Last year between March and May I lost 36 pounds. As of now I've gained it all back plus about 15-20 more. What I need is support and inspiration and ideas. My biggest problem is food of course. I can exercise for hours and be fine. It's the eating where I lose control or come up with the most excuses for failing. I don't have much money and I have a family of 5 so I find it very hard to eat healthy. I can go to McDonald's and feed the whole family for $15. So if anyone has advice in this area it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

  • Hey! Mom of 6 kids here. It's way cheaper to cook at home. Check out flipped.com and create an account, add in the health stuff you want to eat and the not so health stuff your family and kids eat. It'll show you the cheapest stores for what item.

Next, make your meals 3-4 days in advance. That way, you pop it in the microwave and your food is ready, you can eat while you cook their food. Nibble here and there and then finish your meal with your family (if that's how you guys work).

I eat Luna bars for my snacks, they are usually 10 for $10. My diet is public so if you want cheap food click on my stuff. We spent less than 500 bucks a month on food. 120ish a week on food. But after flipp, I spend 400 a month on food. It really really helps. You get coupons on there too!

The cyclical nature of your weight loss and weight gain is the story of my life as well unfortunately. I know much of it is in the Psychology of things but in any event just started this past Saturday and wish you much success.
