Hey So how do I count foods that were like home made?
Like where I cannot look on the back of the box and read the calories

I usually list everything individually, unless there is a generic version I think is close to what I made... I made fruit scones yesterday and just chose one that I know is a similar size to the one I made and its from a supermarket I know so I just aded that instead.
I make 95% of what I eat from scratch so unless I want to spend time inputting all the ingredients I just accept my cals will be off slightly. I suspect I actually eat fewer cals than my diary think I eat... b0 -
If you are cooking yourself, there is no problem - use the recipe builder.
If you are eating other people's home cooked food, you have to guesstimate.
For produce, look it up in the USDA database.
Never trust MFP entries blindly, not even the "verified" ones - confirm with label/producer's website/USDA.4 -

Estimate.
1 Chips Ahoy cookie is about 40 calories.
1 Panera Bread Chocolate Chip Cookie is about 440 calories.
What's the homemade cookie closer to? And be honest. Don't guess 'ah, about 50 calories when it's really 400. You can't trick your body that way.
Most homemade cookies I've eaten are in the middle somewhere, about 160-200 calories each.

For a homemade food you didn't make yourself, find a similar recipe online and add it to the recipe builder. It might not be exact, but better than a blind estimate.
For restaurants, I'd find a chain restaurant entry that's similar to what you had.0 -
Measure all your ingredients and total them up. Then split it out by servings. We create recipes in mfp all the time.0

Have you by chance read the "stickies" at the beginning of the forums? This is where you need to start to be honest. Start learning the basics and getting a good understanding of what calories are, getting a food scale, weighing your food, how to log them, and if you have not already setting up your account that wil give you your calories to eat daily (deficit).
These stickies have a great deal of information in them from calorie counting 101 to understanding how to setup your account, etc..
