Quest Bars?

I haven't tried many flavors because they're a bit pricey to be testing (2/$5) but I love the double chocolate chunk and it can keep me full for hours. The only other bar that I've found with low carbs is Power Crunch, but they have very little fiber and are not nearly as filling as quest bars. I usually buy 2 a week and save them for the days I'm out of the house a lot so I don't have to worry about being hungry on the run.

I like most of the ones I've tried, I'd say cookies and cream is my favorite but usually only have 1/2 as I find them a bit too sweet to have all at once. Very rarely do I use them as a meal replacement but if I do I'm full because of all the fiber and protein. I do prefer them warmed in the micro a few seconds1

I like Quest bars. I eat a protein bar along with a salad or some fresh veggies as lunch many days. I will say that I prefer Combat Crunch protein bars to Quest (they have an awesome texture and chocolate outside so they feel more indulgent). Something nice about Quest bars is that because they don't have a chocolatey coating there is nothing to get melty and gross if I keep it in my car or bag during the summer, so I take them on day trips when I know it's going to get hot outside. I usually get protein bars on Amazon for best price, though Vitamin Shoppe sometimes has good sales and it's a good place to just buy singles of different flavors to see what you like. My local Walmart also now carries a few flavors of Quest bars, so that is convenient if you need some right away.
I have made quite a fun practice of sampling new protein bar flavors and categorizing them according to whether or not I would buy them again in the future. For your reference, here is my list of Quest flavors (there are still some I haven't tried yet).
Quest flavors I liked:
Double chocolate chunk
Strawberry cheesecake was okay
Mint chocolate
Cinnamon roll!
Chocolate brownie is okay
Apple pie!
Chocolate chip cookie dough
Smores
Quest flavors I had high hopes for but will never buy again:
Cookies and cream (I know others like it but I do not at all)
Lemon
Banana nut muffin
Vanilla almond crunch
Coconut cashew
Mixed berry
Chocolate peanut butter1 -
I can't stand the new formulas. So no more Quest bars for me.1

Thank you all! I've recently brought a huge quest protein powder and two quest bars: cookies n cream and cookie dough. Cookies n cream is not too sweet but artificial tasting? However, takes awhile to eat lol which is good. I'm still open for suggestions. I appreciate everyone's input0

Thanks for the input! I just tried the cookies n cream, they were so-so, but artificial? lol I hope the other flavors are better! Thanks for the list!0 -
I have been avoiding them because they are absolutely nasty and the ones with artificial sweetener leave a very bad taste in my mouth. My husband did gag and spit them out (true story). The only one that was decent was the smores, but it still did not have enough of the chocolate chunks in it to be considered acceptable.
Now before I made my review I have tried almost all the flavors including ones without sweeteners. They are chewy (if you want to call it that) and to me too soft.. however if you have to tolerate them, leaving them in your car to get warm might help.
Best baked protein bar by far for me is the Fit Crunch Peanut Butter, Cookie N Cream or the Combat bars. This is of course if you prefer a crunch.
Thanks for the input! Just tried one and I agree: it does taste artificial but it's really chewy and not too sweet so I guess that's good lol

I ordered the chocolate chips ones through Amazon and got 12 for $23.74 which comes out to $1.98 each. Not too bad and I really like the flavor. Seems to kick my cookie cravings.1

I hate that they take forever to arrive in Canada, I want to try the blueberry one I saw people talking about and the oatmeal one too. Last year it was months before I finally got my hands on the pumpkin one...0 -
Haven't jumped on the Quest wagon yet, but tried the Oh Yeah! One Birthday Cake bar yesterday, and it tastes like those Mother's frosted animal cookies 220cals/24carb/7fat/21protein. 1g of sugar1

Sounds good! Are they filling?0 -

I used to eat Quest bars before adopting a plant-based diet. They're good. My all-time favorite (which is a limited edition seasonal one) was the pumpkin spice one. It had a different texture than the original bars. More of a wafer cookie and rice crispies texture. In the original line, my favorites were Cookies n Cream, S'Mores, and Cookie Dough. Drink water with them. I guess with the density of them the water helps them expand in your stomach and you'll feel full longer. I used to eat one as breakfast when I was in a rush.1

I bought a variety pack like this from Amazon.

I'm all about the cinnamon roll. Love that one. I eat them when I'm on the run....if I know I'll be hungry but can't eat anything real for a while. Between work at the gym, for example.
The fiber.... when I first started eating Quest bars, I had to also pop a few GasXs, hahaha. But at some point, I don't know, my body got used to them. No longer an issue.0 -
Oh and hey.... if you are a fan of Quest bars, great sale at GNC.com for labor day weekend. Buy one get one 50% off plus free shipping. Good way to stock up0

Exactly this. Everyone always raves about Cookies & Cream, but the one time I had it (I usually buy a case or two off Amazon, and many vendors there sell variety packs) it was nasty.0 -

Thanks for this tip! Just took the opportunity to stock up!0 -
If you don't have a problem with less than ideal ingredients (ie, not all natural) - then they are pretty good for losing weight and keeping protein high. I used to eat them and loved the Cookie's n Cream and S'mores kind.0

I am not an advocate of protein bars or energy bars like Clif, Kind, Kashi, etc. I often times call them “candy bars on steroids”!
Most are loaded with artificial ingredients and sugars.
However, I did happen to find a brand of bars that definitely passes a high standard of nutrition! I researched and I tasted and I would recommend this for a snack on the go, a quick fuel before a work out or in-between workouts, an evening snack to beat those cravings and it’s portable, easy to eat on those road trips, hikes, bike rides, etc.
It is called: SimplyProtein Bar. They have protein bars, protein chips, protein crunch (like granola), and SimplyNourish Bars for sensitive stomachs. They also offer SimplyProtein bars for children.
The bars, chips and crunch are non-GMO, Gluten Free, Certified Low GI (diabetes friendly), Certified Kosher, Certified with adequate Iron and Vegan.
The bars contain 140 to 150 calories in one bar. 15g of protein, 7g of fiber and only 1g of natural sugar.
There are only 10 (clean) ingredients in their bars and are all natural, nothing artificial, no fake sugar.
The digestive bars are impressive. Designed similar to above, they are also suitable for those with Chron’s, IBS and Colitis – Containing NO fructose, lactose, sugar alc., inulin, soy, wheat or dairy.

Crohn's not Chron's and they have too much fiber for most Crohn's and colitis patients. Those would kill me.0
