I have been using my fitness pal for a while now and decided that I need to get on the forums and figure out what I am doing wrong! I have not lost any weight...actually have gained a few!
I go through spurts of doing very well and then I pretty much give up because I am not seeing any results and then start gaining...I really don't know what to eat anymore or what to do for exercise.
Feeling very frustrated and fat!
I would love to hear what you do to lose and stay healthy
Traci
also, how do I get one of those little tracker things at the bottom of my name??

Hi Traci, before you give up (as I have many times in the past) start measuring your body in inches. It is very possible you are gaining muscle and losing fat. Check to see if you are toning up.0

like someone told be baby steps. here some tips of eating and drinking. maybe we can lean on each other. i got some tips. I have been combining some my food made a tasty treat. My partner loves it and I love it. One is my version of fruit salad since I don’t like every fruit and my partner doesn’t either. I cut strawberries into pieces, cut apples into lengths, add cantaloupe slices, watermelon slices, grapes, and cut my banana in circles then mix up to a bowl then I got my fruit salad. For snack if I am tired of bread I use wheat flatbread. I spread any kind peanut butter on my flatbread and make sure it cover then cut my bananas into circles and place them down the middle. Then fold over to where cover the bananas sand fold the other over. There my way to peanut butter and banana wrap. I made a healthier way to eat strawberries and bananas without the juice. Just cut the strawberries into small pieces and bananas into pieces in put them in a bowl, and then u got strawberries and bananas without the juice. I have discovered a wonderful drink mix called crystal light strawberry and banana hunger control. It helps my partner and I get full fast. Anything else I should try just message me or post it. May god bless u. I need some inspiration so I can share to my partner. i also like vitamin enhanced water that grape and apple by great value. i eat smaller portions of something i shouldnt have. i dont know how to the tracker traci. but hope u sucess and hope this works traci.0

I completely understand where you're at mentally. I'm walking the MFP path for about the fourth (I think) time. Like you, I get frustrated and give up, and like you, this time I'm opening myself up in the boards to find folks who are walking this same path, and I'm looking for all the support I can hey. Don't ever think you're alone. We'll be there with you for every stumble, as well as every success!
BTW - the ticker is in your profile. You'll see a link to customize it there.
Good luck, and may you walk lightly. :flowerforyou:0 -
Traci,
Welcome to the forums! I think this is one of my first posts here too.
Remember, you're not the only one.
Ok, this is the way I look at it. The past few years I've made healther, nutritious choices for meals. It just takes time and practice to do, but it can be done. My caloric goal each day is about 1940calories. Most days I'm under and I make it a point not to go over. When I exercise and burn calories, I'm definitely under. I'm a finicky eater, so choosing meals for me was a challenging. I reasearched and designed my own menu of foods that were nutritious, healthy, and would eat on a regular basis based on what I will eat - and I log it all on myfitnesspal.
The same goes for exercising. After I workout, I see how many calories I've burned, and add that into myfitnesspal as well - and it automatically calculates the total.
It just takes practice. We've all been though it. Just ask. We're here to help each other.
Take care,
James

Motivation is what we are all here for... It all starts with your diet and then your exercise regimen. I would be glad to help you along your path and give motivation... That's what we are all here for right?

I've totally been there! I find the biggest motivation is knowing that it will work. if you create a calorie deficit every day, weight will come off. It can be slow to start, but just make sure to be your own best friend and don't let yourself get frustrated!
You can do it!0
