Hi group, encouragement to all of you. Just wanted to mention menopause and that' it's a real struggle. Gained 35 pounds. Can't seem to get it off. Trying. Goals for September, just to move more and get a few pounds off would be great.

Hi SherriPhillips-this is a very timely post. Went to see my dr yesterday after following the same diet (vegan, low fat, low sugar, low carb) diligently for 17 days. In those 17 days my weight went up 8 lbs, back down 10 lbs, back up 2 lbs, and up again 1.4 lbs. I changed NOTHING during those 17 days. I did the same workouts, ate virtually the same thing each day, and was a "very good girl". My dr said unfortunately, this may be the way it is. I was so disheartened I didn't work out yesterday and I ate 1/3 of a baguette (no butter though). She said to stay the course and work on being healthy. She is also about 50 lbs heavier than she was when I started going to her 17 years ago, and she's close to my age (I'm 55) so she's dealing with a similar situation. It's so frustrating as I far weighed less when I was having the occasional hot fudge sundae and eating french fries and big macs. I feel so discouraged. Wondering what others are experiencing...0
