What's the best exercise to tone the tummy?? What has worked for you??

A caloric deficit. And progressive overload in exercises to build underlying muscle mass to increase definition and visibility.1

I found it was more about consistency rather than what works best because they all work well. The typical crunches, butterfly kicks, v ups and bicycles are good exercises to start off with1

You can't spot reduce. Doing the typical core exercises just conditions the muscles but in order to "tone" you need to reveal those muscles underneath by reducing body fat. So a calorie deficit.
I do very little core specific work, it's tedious. But with my ongoing weight loss my tummy is flattening nicely and with my strength training my core strength is pretty darn good.2
